Open™ announced that its OpenSmartflex™ solution was selected to be implemented by Coopelesca,
-Cooperativa de Electrificación Rural de
San Carlos- in Costa Rica. With a tradition of 40
years, Coopelesca stands out in the electric generation
and distribution market covering close to 95% of
the service provided to the Northern Costa Rican
Areas.
It is worth mentioning that Coopelesca is an avant-gardist
corporation, spirited in each of the projects it
undertakes. It has close to 3.385 kilometers of
electric networks, with over 37.000 associates,
55.000 subscribers, providing service to over 200.000
users. Soon to venture into new areas will soon
offer low cost Internet and Cable TV services, and
will undertake feasibility studies for the construction
of a new Hydroelectric project in the San Carlos
Area.
OpenSmartflex™ from Open™, leader in BOSS
(Business and Operations Support Systems) solutions
development and implementation for telcos and utilities
will allow Coopelesca to implement an integral and
flexible solution to cover customer services, invoicing,
field and network operations areas, meeting Costa
Rican market needs.
The
multiple services platform provided by OpenSmartflex™,
specifically designed in support of Latin American
Companies in countries like Colombia, Ecuador and
Paraguay, provides utilities companies like Coopelesca,
with a business solution, customer and end user
oriented, improving in-house efficiency, and, at
the same time, focusing in the development on new
services.
